Accessible Buses UK
Vehicle Name: Optare Solo SR
Common Nationwide
Summary
The Optare Solo SR has good internal spacing for a wheelchair user to move around in. However, getting on the vehicle might be a problem due to its front wheels being in front of the door, forcing the boarding point further back. The could and has been a problem when at some bus stations as the doorways on the 'platforms' is normally aligned for a more conventional layout with the door being before the wheels. The wheelchair assistance/stopping bell is different but only by a single chime and the 'Stopping' sign being poorly illuminated in most cases. It can lower to curb level to make ramp use easier when needed. The doors have handrails on to allow for easier boarding.
